A Legacy of Faith in Albert County

For well over a century, this congregation has been a spiritual anchor for the families of Weldon and the surrounding region of Albert County. Through the changing landscapes of rural New Brunswick, this church has remained a constant — a place of worship, belonging, and genuine care.

Milestones

Our Journey Through the Years

Early 1900s

Founding of the Congregation

A small group of Baptist families in the Weldon area began gathering regularly for worship and prayer, laying the spiritual and relational foundation for what would become Weldon United Baptist Church.

1920s

Construction of the Church Building

The congregation erected a permanent church building on Route 114 — a physical symbol of their commitment to this community. Members contributed labour, materials, and resources to bring the building to life.

Post-War Growth & Expansion

Following the Second World War, the congregation grew significantly as returning families sought community and spiritual grounding. New programs for children and youth were established, and the church deepened its roots in local life.

1960s–1970s

Renewed Vision & Ministry Development

A season of renewed vision saw the development of formal ministry programs — Sunday School, youth groups, and women's ministry. The congregation strengthened its partnerships within the broader Baptist community of New Brunswick.

1980s–1990s

Our Legacy

Built by Faithful People

The history of this church is the accumulated faithfulness of generations of ordinary people who chose to love God and love their neighbours.

Their names are carved into pews, inscribed in memorial books, and written on the hearts of those they mentored, supported, and prayed for. We are custodians of their legacy, and we hold it with deep gratitude and humility. We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us — and we build for those who will come after.

"Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you."
Deuteronomy 32:7 (NIV)
